Can someone explain exactly how to read oil weight? I haven't a clue what the first number means, but I know the second is weight/viscosity.

first number is cold viscosity, second is hot viscosity.

And the smaller the number, the thick it is, for both correct?

Other way around, bigger number is thicker oil for both.

No problem! And a general rule for oil weights is that it is usually OK to go a bit thicker than factory recommended but never thinner (for the hot weights). Cold weights, you can run a bit thinner than factory recommended but not thicker (depending on climate)

Charging Cycle..
That reminds me of my Nokia N9.
If you deplete all the battery, you can't charge the phone. Because in order to charge the phone, the phone needs to enter the "charging mode". To Enter the charging mode, the phone needs at least 1% of battery left. And the battery is sealed inside the phone.
Nokia sometimes is an asshole.

My phone dies sometimes before it even gets to 20%, just because it doesn't feel like working anymore. -_-

Ya, you need a new battery. If you have an iPhone 5 and not a 5C or 5S, there is a recall right now for the battery. If you take it to the apple store they will replace it for free.

somethihng to remember in picking out oil. If someone had an engine that is not a usual configuration to modern engines, for example let's say you built a hot rod or nice muscle car but built your engine with solid lifters and timing gears, things that rely on meshing tightly and really squishing the oil, you would have to look at high zinc content oil. That's not printed on the bottle. For example, any pre-2000 mini is the old origional 50's style. The gearbox is under the engine and shares the engine oil so i have to use vr1 Valvoline "racing" oil because the zinc will keep the metal rubbing parts from pitting. Solid lifters and timing gears suffer this from the camshaft pressures. regular rotating parts like crank bearings do not in our normal engines. Just something to think about.
